University of Leeds Boat Club (UOLBC) has been at the forefront of sport at the University of Leeds for 100 years. It is the biggest mixed gender sporting club in the University, with over 200 members this academic year. Recent competitive successes have been a result of the enthusiasm and commitment of all of its members.

No matter what your experience level or ability, the boat club caters for your needs. All are welcome; from beginners who are just taking up rowing, to seasoned rowers wanting to continue rowing competitively at the highest standard available to Universities. We don’t cut anyone from our squads, just offer opportunities to row at different levels.

UOLBC competes at BUCS and British Rowing affiliated races and at events from small heads and regattas such as Durham and York to the pinnacle of the rowing season; Henley Women’s and Henley Royal Regatta.

We row at Thwaite Lane in South Leeds, a new £1 million boathouse opened in September 2014 in collaboration with Leeds Rowing Club, British Rowing, Sport England and WREN. The new facility will allow us to offer an even better rowing experience to our members, and we look forward to future successes as a result.
