FACILITIES

LEEDS BOATHOUSE, THWAITE LANE

The £1.2 million Leeds Boathouse  opened in 2014 and is home to our ever growing fleet including a number of new Hudson boats for both sculling and sweeping. In a ground-breaking partnership between the University of Leeds, British Rowing, Sport England and Leeds Rowing Club, the Leeds Boathouse was opened in 2014. A purpose built shared facility situated 10 minutes from the city centre, and 15 minutes from Campus, we are spoilt with the stretch of quiet water here. With incredibly calm and sheltered conditions, it is an ideal location to teach our novices the basics. We then have a further 4km of canal with wide 2k straights and up to a total of 10km of open paddling water.

CROMER TERRACE S+C HUB

In January 2024, the brand new, state of the art S+C Hub on Cromer Terrace opened. As the Boat Club is a performance sport at the University of Leeds, our members have access to the equipment and facilities of the hub as part of their training programme, supervised by S+C coaches who write a programme tailored to our needs.

Our members have access to The Edge - one of the premier university gyms in the country. Our land training, including group erg sessions and circuits are run here. Alongside having access to the Cromer Terrace S+C Hub, the Edge Gym is available to all students at the university, and has a convenient location on campus amongst lecture theatres.
