Whether you have never been in a boat before or a seasoned rower with wins at National Schools, we are able to cater for all. We can teach you to row or fine tune your technique whilst dev
eloping your fitness to be competitive at whatever level you are aspiring to. You put in the work and we will take you there. Our crews compete both locally at smaller regattas for those who are aiming to have fun whilst competing, to those who want to take it more seriously and perform at BUCS, Henley and major multi-lane regattas. Within the last year we have won a medal in a championship event at BUCS and qualified not only in academic events at Women’s Henley but also in Senior.
If you are a high performing rower/sculler who has represented internationally you maybe eligible for for one of our university sports scholarships. Get in touch with our head coach for further info and how to apply.
We are able to accommodate for those who want to take things a little more gentle and train when they can. We also support the university’s Get Out Get Active programme in which people sign up to individual sessions and can try rowing in more stable boats.
Our club has a vibrant social scene, with regular socials to keep the squads happy and motivated. Whether it be a Wednesday night social, Come Dine with Me, our famous All-in-One Otley Run or our Christmas and Summer balls our Social Secs have it covered.
Our members get the opportunity to develop their employability to complement their studies, not only through showing how hard working they are as is required in rowing but also through taking on one of the many volunteering opportunities within the club. Whether it be through coaching other members, organising events or day to day running of the club our students have what it takes.
